We returned to the den in a round about manner, avoiding traps along the way. Based on the trail he took I was surprised I had not stumbled onto one on that night almost half a moon ago. With the sounds of the fighting dog’s and angry yelling haunting my dreams, I was afraid to wake up. When I finally did, wake up I did not open my eyes, afraid I was mutilated or had been a plaything to Spector, but I did not hear anything. We’d walked for half a day before finally coming to a place to where Justice would stop. We wanted to put as much distance between us and the mansion as we could, but walking at night, with Ryan on my back, and Laura’s condition (which was not her pregnancy rather she wasn’t used to being in the wilds after dark). The Dusclops hadn’t allowed any healing to be done by Ryan’s body so many wounds suddenly opened on his flesh after the effects of the possession had worn off. It was a few weeks before my leg returned to being fully useful. The taxation of fighting for Laura and fighting the dragon had exhausted me more than I thought. The fight with the dragon revealed that I had ribs and wounds that had reopened that needed tending too.
